About Rykert

Rykert is a very loving special little boy who was just diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, we are not sure how severe it is yet we will hopefully find out on Aug 20th. Rykert turned four on May 22 this year and has a 3 yr old sister named Lilly, they love to play together and of course tease each other like crazy. When Rykert was about 1 to  1 1/2 he was diagnosed with Developmental Delay, but as his Mom I was sure there was more to it and was sure it was something along the lines of Autism since it runs in my family. It was quite a shock to find out that it was Muscular D. but now everything with Ry makes sense. Our first concern with him was that he didnt walk until he was about 19 months old and prior to that he didnt really crawl normally it was always the army crawl, his favorite thing to do is to play with his toys but not sitting up, while laying on his stomach. The second concern that was also caused by the Muscular D. was his cognitive delay which was mistaken by me and many others as possible Autism or Developmental Delay, it is a delay but we now know what is causing it.
